“Margo’s insights and guidance have given me a new perspective on self-care and what it means to live a more whole and balanced life. I’d recommend woking with her to anyone!” —CW
I am a licensed psychotherapist and coach with over two decades of experience helping people break free from self-abandonment — the hidden pattern that quietly sabotages relationships, careers and self-worth.
Are you successful in much of your life, but struggle in certain with self-esteem or relationships? Through my approach, you’ll learn how to become securely self-attached: rooted in a strong, stable sense of who you are, no longer thrown off course by others’ opinions or old wounds. With that foundation, you can finally move forward— confidently and on your own terms—toward the life you actually want.
When we are lacking that sense of meaning or fulfillment stress increases in many aspects of your life. Have you been struggling with feelings of depression or anxiety? Or are you coping with a big loss or life transition that has shaken your foundation causing you to feel overwhelmed? I believe that increased awareness about our own unique mixture of vulnerabilities can show us the skills we need to develop so we can thrive. Through therapy, verbalizing our conflicts in innovative ways can help us gain a richer perspective that can lead to new outcomes and lasting change.
Whatever your background or the challenges you’re facing, I’m here to listen — really listen — and work alongside you, creatively and collaboratively, toward the change you’re seeking. My training in psychotherapy, social work, and ontological coaching means I can meet you wherever you are, across a wide range of issues and life experiences. It would be an honor to help you build a more fulfilling life.
My eclectic approach includes Cognitive Therapy, EMDR for trauma processing, Polyvagal Nervous SystemTheory, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, inner child work, art therapy and mindfulness practices. I help many clients recognize the role of self-abandonment and shame—the first step for becoming securely self-attached. I coach clients in cultivating a more loving inner parent who can counteract the background noise of the inner critic.
What to expect from a therapy session? Our first step is to talk about what you want to accomplish in therapy. Aware of your goals, which may evolve over time, we will explore current challenges along with childhood experiences that may still be impacting you. As you become more present to your vulnerabilities and skillful in managing them, your self-efficacy, self-esteem and happiness will grow.
