My work is in helping people navigate life’s difficulties, make changes that feel meaningful and develop greater confidence, resilience and clarity. Many people want to better understand what they’re experiencing and why certain feelings, thoughts or ways of relating keep repeating. We can explore how your struggles have developed, including the broader systems that influence our lives, while finding ways to change patterns in how you feel, think and behave. I work with concerns including trauma (C/PTSD), depression, relationships, loss, dissociation, stress, neurodivergence and complex or overlapping difficulties.

My approach combines depth-oriented therapy with practical methods. I also use mind-body approaches when they seem helpful. I currently have openings for new clients and offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.  I am licensed in Massachusetts, Maryland and Oregon. Please feel free to contact me, even if you’re not sure about starting treatment yet but have questions you’d like to ask. Free on-site reserved parking next to office building in Great Barrington location.

I help people who feel stuck in their lives to learn what is getting in the way of living better, whatever better means to them. If we work together, first and foremost, I listen. I listen to your life experiences, goals, and how you have suffered. I work with you to understand how your symptoms have been solutions to painful life circumstances so that we can transform your suffering from pure pain into a source of meaningful learning. When you know better how your mind works, you can make more informed choices and improve your relationships. When I offer treatment, I commit to being in it with you and bearing this hard work together.I am a psychoanalytic therapist. To me, this means that: I treat you as a whole person, taking into account aspects of your identity, family, and culture. I believe that childhood experiences are important but not destiny. Relationships are often a source of pain, but it is through them that people heal. Openness to emotions of all kinds makes life richer. People are not defined by their symptoms, but learning about one’s own contributions to those struggles is an important part of making lasting change.
