Clinical & Relational Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over four decades of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My work is grounded in evidence-based, research-informed approaches, with particular emphasis on the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, trauma-informed care, and substance use treatment.
I practice from a relational and attachment-focused framework, helping clients understand patterns of interaction, emotional regulation, and the ways earlier experiences influence present-day relationships. Therapy is collaborative, structured, and thoughtfully paced, with attention to safety, accountability, and emotional connection. I hold a strong belief in the capacity for repair and growth, even in relationships that feel stuck, strained, or impacted by significant rupture.

I help people who feel stuck in their lives to learn what is getting in the way of living better, whatever better means to them. If we work together, first and foremost, I listen. I listen to your life experiences, goals, and how you have suffered. I work with you to understand how your symptoms have been solutions to painful life circumstances so that we can transform your suffering from pure pain into a source of meaningful learning. When you know better how your mind works, you can make more informed choices and improve your relationships. When I offer treatment, I commit to being in it with you and bearing this hard work together.I am a psychoanalytic therapist. To me, this means that: I treat you as a whole person, taking into account aspects of your identity, family, and culture. I believe that childhood experiences are important but not destiny. Relationships are often a source of pain, but it is through them that people heal. Openness to emotions of all kinds makes life richer. People are not defined by their symptoms, but learning about one’s own contributions to those struggles is an important part of making lasting change.
I share an office space and collaborate with a psychiatrist, Charles Blomquist, MD.

I believe each person possesses the innate wisdom and ability to uncover meaning and solutions within themselves and ultimately heal. We will be co-collaborators in this process; your internal wish to heal will be our guide. My approach is relational, warm, and non-judgmental. I draw from various modalities, integrating person-centered, attachment, psychodynamic and somatic therapy into the work as needed. I rely on humor as I believe laughter is transformational, cathartic and connective. I am flexible and responsive, working intuitively to best serve you and help foster a space for genuine healing, growth, and self-understanding.
For many years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting young people (18 and up) as they transition into adulthood; a life phase I feel profoundly connected to. I also support individuals and couples as they grapple with attachment wounds, trauma, shame, self-worth, identity, chronic pain and illness, bereavement, transitions, anxiety, depression, and end-of-life care.
Together we will create a safe place for you to explore hurt, shame, loss and whatever else unfolds. This process of exploration and uncovering will help release old wounds and patterns, foster trust in self, and empower you to define your own path forward.
Beyond my role as therapist I am a mother and a jazz singer. I love to laugh, hike, dance, read, drink tea and knit. These practices help me stay balanced and connected.
It would be my honor to share in your path toward healing, self-discovery and meaning making.
I offer therapy in a lovely, light-filled office in Housatonic, MA, or online via zoom. I’m available weekdays and some evenings.
I am in network for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I also work out of network. My fee is $150 for individuals and $225 for couples. I also provide sliding scale on a case by case basis.
